Impact assessment reports

Please click below to download our survey reports from 2019 right till 2023. We have two reports for each year, one details what our audience thought about the festival and how it changed their perspective on research, the second outlines what the artists, researchers and organisations participating in the festival thought about us. These reports are prepared by the independent organisation Institute for Methods Innovation.

2023 - Changemakers

Changemakers: was about using research-based knowledge and creativity to solve the political, social, environmental and technical challenges that confront us. The definition of a changemaker is someone who takes creative action to solve a problem. Researchers are at the forefront of this movement, however, a more coordinated team effort, involving researchers, artists and the community are required if we are to succeed. We offered this proposal up to our audiences. Bringing researchers, artists and other stakeholders on board to help us empower visitors to become changemakers.

2022 - Taking Root

Taking Root: The stands and performances content for the festival continued to shine a light on the concepts of community and social responsibility. All participants focused on what changes we can all make, nurturing the audience’s critical thinking and problem solving skills using the arts, experiments, games, demos, hands-on activities and so much more to motivate visitors to develop environmental consciousness and contribute to Europe’s green deal goals.

2021 - Sowing Seeds

Sowing Seeds: Again we looked to raise awareness about how each one of us can change and help improve the world we live in. Together with artists, researchers, NGOs, industry, students and the community we sowed the seeds of active citizenship.

2020 - Engage, Empower, Enable

Engage, Empower, Enable: This festival was set up when we were all in lockdown. The pandemic taught us how to create a purely digital experience for our audiences. We looked to engage citizens through their screens, to create awareness about how research and scientific knowledge can empower and enable us to make a difference by taking responsibility for our actions and working to improve our future.

2019 - The Science of YOU

The Science of YOU: Made its audiences the top priority. The festival focused on each and everyone of us and how science and research help us in all aspects of our lives. Medicine and health, the environment we live in, the technology that assists and entertains us, human relations and so much more.
