Discover how forensic scientists use DNA to identify people and investigate family relationships. Learn about chromosomes, DNA extraction, and modern DNA profiling techniques used in forensic genetics.
Participants will also have the opportunity to contribute to an ongoing University of Malta research project investigating genetic variation in the Maltese population by voluntarily providing a simple cheek swab. The workshop combines live demonstrations, hands-on learning and real scientific research to showcase how genetics is applied in forensic science.
