BioGeMT and TargetMI are research projects, based on the field of bioinformatics, supported by EU funding.
– BioGeMT is providing bioinformatics support, developing training programs, and enhancing expertise within the university. Their work is crucial in fostering a knowledgeable base for future research.
– TargetMI is applying bioinformatics techniques to identify new drugs, biomarkers, and risk algorithms specifically targeting heart attacks, the molecular processes, and its related risk factors.

ZeEBRA project uses high-throughput screening of small molecules to identify new drug candidates for treating bone disorders, particularly osteoporosis.

The presence of team members at Science in the City offers a unique opportunity for visitors to gain a deeper understanding of their research. Using engaging games, they will be explaining basic concepts in the field of bioinformatics, and will use machine learning to answer questions about genetics and molecular biology.
