What happens when musicians and scientists come together? Science of Music is an engaging, interactive workshop that explores the fascinating connection between music, mathematics and engineering. Featuring a live performance by a chamber ensemble from  Malta Youth Orchestra alongside academics from the University of Malta, the session uncovers the science behind the sounds we hear and the music we create.

Through demonstrations, discussion and audience participation, participants will discover how sound is produced, how musical instruments work, and how scientific principles shape every note we play and hear. Presented in an informal, Café Sci-style format, the workshop encourages curiosity, questions and conversation, making complex scientific concepts accessible through the universal language of music.
