Emergency Medicine Saves Lives

Ever wondered what happens inside an Emergency Department? Join the Association of Emergency Physicians of Malta for a fun-filled, hands-on event where children and families can discover the exciting world of emergency medicine!

Our much-loved Teddy Bear Hospital invites children to bring along their favourite teddy, doll or soft toy for a special check-up by our emergency doctors. From listening to heartbeats and applying bandages to helping teddy feel better, children will learn about hospitals through play, laughter and imagination. It’s the perfect way to make healthcare feel less scary and much more familiar.

Families can also test their skills in our interactive triage game. Who needs help first? Who can safely wait? Through a simple and exciting activity, children and adults will get a glimpse into how Emergency Department teams make quick decisions every day.

There will also be games, colouring activities and child-friendly challenges to keep little hands busy and curious minds engaged. Children can enjoy creative activities while learning about health, safety, teamwork and helping others.

One of the highlights will be a real-life emergency scenario, where our team will show how doctors, nurses and paramedics work together when someone suddenly becomes unwell or injured. This will give families a behind-the-scenes look at teamwork, quick thinking and calm decision-making in action.

There will also be time to chat with real Emergency Department doctors and ask what life is like behind the scenes.

Come meet the people behind emergency care in Malta and enjoy a little bit of teddy bear magic!
