Journey Through the Solar System is an interactive STEAM-based family activity designed to engage children and families in learning about the Solar System through play, movement, creativity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The activity begins with a Solar System card game, introducing children to the planets, their order, relative characteristics, and interesting facts. Through the game, children explore the Solar System in an enjoyable and collaborative way. They then design and colour their own planets, using both their imagination and the scientific characteristics they have learned.

The next stage transforms the participants into a living Solar System. A group of ten children takes on the roles of the Sun and the planets. Each participant positions themselves according to their place in the Solar System and moves around the Sun. Their movements are inspired by the characteristics of their assigned planet: some may move quickly, others slowly, while others express their planet through playful spins, jumps, or creative movements. This physical representation helps children visualise planetary order and motion while encouraging teamwork and active participation.

Finally, the group uses an AI tool to recreate their Solar System digitally. Drawing on what they remember about the planets, participants collaboratively generate an AI-created image and a piece of music representing their living Solar System.

The activity combines Science, Technology, Arts, and Mathematics with creativity, physical movement, and collaborative learning. By connecting astronomy concepts with AI and artistic expression, it encourages children to explore science in an imaginative and memorable way while developing communication, creativity, teamwork, and digital skills.
