Malta Medical Students Association
Festival Area: How the Health
The Malta Medical Students’ Association is one of the largest University organisations representing our medical students. We work on different aspects which relate to our health as a whole and we focus on educating both the general public and our students on such matters. Our mission is to enhance the education of future medical professionals through enforcing active participation in their teaching system, organizing international exchanges and implementing training in the various fields of the public health sector. We also aim at empowering the Maltese society, including its marginalized communities, to become functionally involved in decision taking within the National Healthcare System and to reduce health-related social problems through culture and gender sensitive health advocacy.
Climate change presents the single biggest threat to sustainable development worldwide and affects everyone. However, the world’s poorest and those in vulnerable situations tend to be disproportionately affected by environmental degradation. Join our session to learn more about what causes climate change, how it affects us and the human rights and vulnerable groups most at risk!
