Festival Area: How the health!

Organisation Description:

The MHSA is a senate recognized students’ association within the University of Malta, the idea of two students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Christian Ellul and Clinton Schembri Frankalanza, the co-founders of the association. 

The Malta Health Student Association will be celebrating their 10 year anniversary this year. The main goal of the year is to match this milestone with expanding in our outreach to both students and the general public with regards to health. Following last year’s rapid growth in internal structure, MHSA has welcomed the new role of Human Resources Officer to keep strengthening the internal foundations of the organization as a first and foremost priority.

iHealth in the Digital age

How do you think technology has affected and improved the Maltese health system? At this year’s edition of Science in the City, the Malta Health Students’ Association- MHSA will be following the patient pathway and including all the different healthcare professionals that may be involved in the treatment process of the patient. They will also be discussing these case studies in relation to the new technology available to healthcare professionals that enable them to improve the patient’s experience as well as the outcome of their treatment.

Science in the City is part of the EU-wide celebration, European Researchers’ Night. It is co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme, under grant agreement No 101061120, the Arts Council Malta (ACM), Esplora STEM Engagement fund and a number of corporate sponsors. It is recognised by Europe for Festivals and Festivals for Europe (EFFE). 

The Science in the City consortium is led by the University of Malta and the Malta Chamber of Scientists, in partnership with the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Trust Stamp Ltd, MCAST, Qualia Analytics, Esplora, tech.mt, BPC International, SEM, PBS, Spazju Kreattiv, Aquabiotech, Valletta Design Cluster, Valletta Cultural Agency, Transport Malta, The Environment Resource Agency, WasteServ, Heritage Malta and More or Less Theatre.
