Taking Root: The stands and performances content for the festival continued to shine a light on the concepts of community and social responsibility. All participants focused on what changes we can all make, nurturing the audience’s critical thinking and problem solving skills using the arts, experiments, games, demos, hands-on activities and so much more to motivate visitors to develop environmental consciousness and contribute to Europe’s green deal goals.

Festival Highlights
Here are some photos representing the 2022 edition of Science in the City. Under the theme Taking Root, the festival transformed Valletta into an interactive space where science, art, technology, and society came together through street activities, performances, discussions, workshops, and installations. Performances such as Earthy’s Appointment and Future Dancing explored science through interactive theatre, movement, and audience participation, while other events encouraged discussions around sustainability, AI, biodiversity, health, and community engagement.
