2020 - Engage, Empower, Enable
Engage, Empower, Enable: was about using science, research and the arts to engage citizens with creativity, innovation and critical thinking. The festival aimed to empower people to become active participants in shaping society by encouraging curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and independent thinking. Researchers, artists, educators and citizens were invited to work together to explore the challenges facing our communities and to develop imaginative responses to them.
The concept was rooted in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), promoting collaboration between researchers, industry, government, NGOs and the public. Through interactive experiences, artistic interventions and scientific engagement, the festival encouraged visitors to question, analyse and reflect on the world around them. By engaging minds, empowering individuals and enabling action, the festival sought to inspire people to contribute to positive social, environmental, cultural and technological change.
