2012 - How it all started!

The inaugural edition of Science in the City marked the beginning of Malta’s Science and Arts Festival, transforming the streets of Valletta into a vibrant space where science, creativity, and public engagement came together. The programme featured interactive experiences, artistic performances, and a main event comprising five street art installations by renowned and emerging Maltese artists, including Raphael Vella’s Cortex and Norbert Francis Attard’s You Are The Staircase. The festival laid the foundations for Science in the City’s mission to connect science, art, and society in inspiring and accessible ways.
