Science at Spazju Kreattiv (KIDS)

4+
6pm – 9pm
Cinema & Studio A, St James Cavalier

Kids Dig Science is back for the festival with a special session. The workshop is linked to the Inside Out (see below) puppet show to give children a hands-on experience of science behind it by tapping into their artistic skills in order to learn about the brain. The workshop will have activities, experiments and games showing how our senses work. Come make your own neuron or even act like one. Curious?

The cinema room will host two puppet shows Sean Briffa’s Inside Out at 6pm and 8pm, sees a normal individual try to get super powers through science. In order to get X-ray vision, amass rule-the-world intelligence, or even spidey senses, our would-be super hero needs to understand how we smell, see, taste the world. In comes science to the rescue. What our hero discovers is much much stranger than fiction.

The other show is about Marie Curie’s (7pm) amazing life. From fascinating discoveries in radioactivity to winning two Nobel Prizes, Marie Curie did it all. Join us to witness her journey as one of the first and best female scientists. Children will participate in this performance in fun interactive sessions and learn how important it is for girls to also be part of the world of science. Written by Sean Briffa and performed by volunteers of S-Cubed, the Science Students’ Society.
